DIY Holiday Box Clutch

0 Comments so far

Are you feeling naughty or nice this holiday season? I had the idea to make this clutch so you can choose which side to wear it on depending on your mood. I used these plastic boxes, vinyl letters, and some christmas bulbs. For the second one I used modge podge, glitter, a metal bow from a napkin holder, and a jingle bell. Sorry, this is more of an outfit post than a step by step DIY, but you get the point. You can do so many fun/festive designs on these boxes for that perfect statement bag for all your holiday parties! They really are the perfect size for all your necessities too!

Top: Thrifted (always check the little boys section!) (Similar/Similar) // Skirt // Shoes: Nine West via TJ Maxx (Similar/Similar) // Necklace // Earrings // Rings: Buffalo Exchange (Similar/Similar) // Coat: French Connection (Similar/Similar)

Color Crush: Pantone Color of the Year Edition – Emerald Green

Pantone just announced the 2013 color of the year, which is a major influence in the world of fashion! I have mixed feelings about the chosen color being Emerald Green. My first reaction was pure excitement because green is my favorite color and it’s a close fight between this rich emerald shade and good ole’ Kelly for the title of my bestie. I always get giddy when I see my fav shades of green on the racks when shopping, because it is not a very common color for clothes (before now that is). After thinking about previous seasons and color trends, I began to question my original excitement. This color is going to be everywhere, everyone will be wearing it, and I just hope it will be as special to me when I come across something that I usually fall in love with based solely on that it is green. Anyway, enough about my feelings. This color has been described as being the color of growth, renewal and prosperity, bringing a sense of clarity, renewal and rejuvenation that we all can use a little dose of!

The obvious choice of colors to mix with Emerald would probably be other jewel tones. Instead, try mixing this deep hue with brighter colors from nature that we already know look naturally beautiful with green shades such as marigold yellow, and a poppy red.

XOXO

The Not So Tacky Holiday Sweater Collection

Now that December is upon us, it is officially Holiday season! Time to break out those christmas sweaters! Tacky christmas sweaters have become quite trendy within the last year, and I have to admit, I am a fan of (some of) them too. Here is my collection of some stylish holiday sweaters that will have you looking festive without looking like you are on your way to a tacky Christmas sweater party!

Sister Style!

0 Comments so far

In between the cooking madness in my moms kitchen, and stuffing our bellies full of deliciousness on Thanksgiving, Ciera and I took a break to take some sister style photos to share with yall! I kept it comfy a casual with leggings and a tie waist tunic (knowing it would probably need to be loosened throughout the day…) and threw on my new J. Crew necklace to add a little something special to this otherwise ordinary outfit.

My pumpkin risotto in the making // Clementine place settings my mom made // The ridiculous amount of food my plate ended up with!

Head over to Ciera’s blog to see some more photos from the day and for her outfit details.
