Kick the case of the Monday’s in the ass with one look at this bright and cheery dress! I just cannot seem to break my addiction to this color! When I saw this dress on ASOS I fell in love. Not only is this “sulphur” color my major crush of the moment but this dress also has my favorite and most flattering fitted waist and flared, mini hemline. I thought, the only thing that would make this dress even more crush worthy is an awesome back. I clicked on the image for more details, and sure enough, an amazing plunging open rectangle back! The sleekness of the nude belt with that metal panel makes this Aqua by Aqua Floyd Dress all the more desirable because nothing compliments a neon hue better than nude with sleek and shiny gold. What’s your color crush of the moment? And do you love this color as much as I do? I would love to know!

Hope this pop of color gives you the kick start to your week that we all need. Until next time, I’ll be dreaming of a sulphur filled closet, fitted waistlines, mini hemlines, poofy skirts, and shiny accessories! Now please excuse me while I go obsess over everything else on this site

XOXO

WHITE OUT: White Linen Night Recap

0 Comments so far

Here’s a little recap of White Linen Night and what I wore. Sadly, I did not bring my camera out, just took a few outfit shots before hand, and snapped some instagram pics with my phone during all the fun!

The lovely Katie and I decided to go with cream and black, accessorized with spikes, studs, feathers, and combat style boots (c/o Shoeffle’ /  Similar & Similar) for looks with a bit more edge than the crisp, clean look of all white.

I went with my all time favorite Free People tunic (similar) that I have worn so many different ways, paired with a floral bralette underneath, also by Free People, and a vintage swiss dot slip c/o my mom. Happily creating a new outfit I have never worn before with pieces I already owned!

I had to show off my cute smocked biker shorts I wore under my (all sheer) outfit. Yes, also from Free People! And Natalie, of Glamour Therapy, gettin sassy with me!

Here is what the night looked like through my Instagram lens.

Rooftop Transitions

Even though Summer will officially be over soon, we still have a while before the heat will go with it! This outfit post shows how you can transition from a hot Summer night out to more of a fall look by layering 3 simple pieces from Abeille NOLA. The first is a flowy hi-low black dress. Pair it with a dressier heel and a pop of color with accessories and you’re ready for a nice dinner and night out.

This purple beaded necklace I chose is actually a brighter lavender than it looks in these pictures, and I love the low, open racerback that this dress has for an even cooler feel.

Throw on a sheer button up blouse tied at the waist and a lace up ankle boot for a slightly more casual look when that chill in the air arrives. This top is also a great alternative to a sweater or cardigan to carry with you if you get cold easily indoors at restaurants, bars, or movies, as I always do.

The next transition is to top the look off with a funky fringe vest, and you’re ready for some fun… or some twirling as I like to do! And then I was sweating my ass off from having all these layers on, while twirling in the sun, on a rooftop in the middle of Summer in New Orleans. Yay!

This is a clutch that I scored at the swap party held at Swap Boutique last week. I added a triangle rhinestone and gold fringe earring on it for some unique detail.

Another option with these pieces is to just layer the dress and the vest, skipping the blouse, which is more practical for the time being. Wear barefoot by the pool, with sandals, heels or boots. So versatile!

I am very excited to get much wear out of each of these pieces, paired together and with so many more options! Play around with layering and try pairing things together that you would not normally. You will be surprised at the outcome!

Cheers to the remaining hot Summer pool days!

XOXO
